It's a means to cover the criminals. There is a judicial restriction that prevents someone from being tried twice for the same crime. It means if the case is "mishandled" and results in "foolish case" then the alleged criminal is free to go and enjoy his loot. Maybe he even charges them commission to go through this fake process. How can you let someone who has a serious financial case decide to cool off for months and decide for himself when he'll return to Ghana to stand trial?

For your information I have taken my time to read his seventh half- yearly report and found out that the OSP is prosecuting 27 persons in eight (8) prosecutions that are ongoing in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale. The OSP has secured seven (7) convictions through plea bargaining under the Republic vs Charles Bissue & Andy Thomas Owusu case and the Ghana Education Service payroll fraud investigation which jointly conducted with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. Through the joint investigation, the OSP suspended GH¢2,854,144.80 and removed the names of deceased, retirees, and post vacators from the government payroll, saving the country GH¢34,249,737.06. So, he is not pretending from what I have read, he has been leading his team to achieve its mandate.Aside that the OSP has suspended 970 million cedis worth of transactions or contracts by government institutions or officers under investigation due to suspected corruption. That in my view is not wasting of taxes.

Kissi Agyabeng will not prosecute cases involving the NPP and he will dance around these cases . He was once reminded by Afenyo Markin that the NPP made him what he is. Mahama must replace Kissi Agyabeng with someone who will be tough in going after those criminals. Many Ghanaians have called for his replacement but Mahama is not acting. If Mahama wants ORAL to achieve its mandate, then Kissi Agyabeng must be replaced.

On Cecilia Dapaah the OSP investigation identified strong indications of suspected money laundering and structuring. As you may be aware they have no mandate to go into such matters and have referred it to EOCO for further action. The OSP is currently prosecuting 27 persons in eight (8) prosecutions that are ongoing in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale and has secured seven (7) convictions through plea bargaining. It is work in progress, I think what the OSP needs is public support and constructive criticism.
