There's is no doubt that Duncan Williams was one of those at the forefront of the so-called charismatic movement in Ghana that increased exponentially during the late 70S INTO THE 8OS AND 90S TO THE PRESENT DAY ,ALTHOUGH THIS HAS ABATED SOMEWHAT IN RECENT YEARS.
Even in the very early years of his ministry he placed a great deal of emphasis on material prosperity as a sign of God's favour and blessings. The problem with this theology was that by implication if you were unable to become rich, if you were going through various trials or enduring adversity then you were probably NOT LIVING RIGHT. This caused a great deal of confusion, anguish and distress to many of his immature followers. The vast majority of attendees of Christian Action Faith ministry during those formative years were mostly below the age of 35 years, with a strong student following. Some of these attendees would later go on to form their own ministries The lack of seasoned and mature Christians those days was very telling.
THE STRONG EMPHASIS ON MATERIAL PROSPERITY HAS PERSISTED TO THIS DAY IN D-Ws preaching and alas has impacted his relationship with other believers as well as people outside the faith. I personally think that many of the controversies and woes that have plagued his journey are a direct consequence of his brand of Christianity with its OVEREMPHASIS ON MATERIAL PROSPERITY.

More than ever before anyone professing to follow the Lord Jesus Christ needs to be discerning. And the only way to be discerning is to stay close to the Lord through the discipline of personal Bible study , personal prayer time and living a life of obedience to the scriptures. I repeat that is how the serious believer grows- through these daily personal encounters with God. Church attendance alone is simply inadequate for spiritual growth and maturity but MOST PEOPLE PREFER AN ENCOUNTER WITH CHURCH RATHER THAN AN ENCOUNTER WITH GOD THROUGH PERSONAL DEVOTION AT HOME. Any man, woman or child who spends meaningful time with God each morning at home will find that Church worship will become more meaningful.
It is possible to enjoy church, enjoy the mood and atmosphere of worship, the beautiful uplifting praise and worship, the dancing, the slogans, the wonderful sermons and still not know God or be known by Him. For many people, attending regular church and indeed participating in Church activities is nothing more than a desire to look respectable but when you examine their private lives closely (at home and at work) they are anything but Christian. NOBODY CAN PRAISE THEIR WAY OR DANCE THEIR WAY INTO SPIRITUAL MAYURITY.

Archbishop these messages I believe are meant to encourage and strengthen others called into ministry who encounter problems in the beginning for them to stand firm in the faith because if God is involved nothing can stop the ministry.

Unfortunately the world will not understand and will resort to insults and in some cases blaspheming the name of God Almighty.

Paul wrote that we should forget the past and move on with the higher calling of God so His purposes and will will be accomplished.

Isaiah also wrote that we should forget the past because God is doing new things such as are evidenced by your ministry work.

I think it will be better to move on with your ministry and forget and not talk about the painful past which people are fond of attacking you with, whether justified/ correct or not.

As a revered man of God most Christians get very hurt when such comments are made about you.

Find room in your heart and forgive them in line with what both Jesus and Steven, champions in the Christian faith said, Father , forgive them, they know not what they are doing.
