The family of the late Highlife music icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, who became famous as Daddy Lumba, left behind eleven children with four different women.

According to the family, this represents the number they officially know, and they cannot tell if others may come forward.

In an interview that has since gone viral, the elders of his family explained that the late legend first had four children with his first wife and five, including twins, with his current wife, while he had two kids from two different mothers.

Though the late Daddy Lumba had a successful career spanning over three decades and became a household name across the country, issues about his personal life remained private.

Until his family made the above revelation, many music lovers who loved his music were unaware of the number of women he had children with and the number of children he had.

Daddy Lumba died in the early hours of July 26, 2025, at the Bank Hospital in Cantonments, Accra, after suffering from a disease that is publicly unknown for now.

The news of his demise broke the hearts of many Ghanaians, particularly those who have developed a strong love for him and his Highlife music.

As part of the effort to honour his memory and legacy even before he is buried, a vigil was held at Independence Square on the night of August 2, 2025, where several hundred people gathered to show their respect.
