'This tragedy has shaken the soul of our country' - Owsal Investments Group mourns helicopter crash

Oswal Investments Group, a local road construction company, has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight prominent Ghanaians, including two ministers of state, on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a statement released on Thursday August 7, 2025, the Executive Chairman of Oswal Investments, Mr. Humphrey Williams, extended heartfelt condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.

“This tragedy has shaken the soul of our country. We have lost not just public officials, but visionary leaders who were committed to the future of Ghana. Their service, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten,” Humphrey Williams said.

Mr. Williams described the incident as a “national heartbreak,” adding that “Ghana is in mourning, and we stand united with the families of the departed in this time of unspeakable grief.”

Business community condoles families of helicopter crash victims

He praised the fallen officials for their commitment and dedication to national service.

"Their deaths must reignite our collective resolve to carry forward the mission they believed in,” he said.

Five government officials and three Airforce pilots died in the helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

The deceased included Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna.

Others are former Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Samuel Sarpong and former parliamentary candidate, Samuel Aboagye.

The military crew onboard were Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manen Twum-Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
