If the fraudster is not able to refund the money, let him do a very long number of years in Prison, about 16 years without Parole. By the time he comes out from Prison, someone would have married his wife and made about Four babies with her and he would be divorced. The Judiciary should not have any mercy on him. Let him struggle and suffer in Prison.

Why did the Chinese guy not route money safely and officially through the banks. He must have been doing cash sales and wanting to evade VAT and other taxes so using non banking route to move money and do his business.

banks don't collect tax for the government and unless by court order, they don't report every transaction to GRA. the only sane explanation was that they promised him a good rate or he didn't have a bank account to do it hims ...

banks don't collect tax for the government and unless by court order, they don't report every transaction to GRA. the only sane explanation was that they promised him a good rate or he didn't have a bank account to do it himself. also considering the amount involved, they may have deceived him of faster transfer. it sometimes take almost a month for banks to process just $15,000 for me because they may not have dollars so you can imagine 1 million ghana cedis. Banks in ghana must do swift transfer at BOG rate meanhwile BOG don't give them the dollars.
