Daniel Yao Domelevo is an anti-corruption crusader
Former Auditor-General Daniel Yao Domelevo has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as Board Chairman of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
EOCO is a specialised agency mandated to monitor and investigate economic and organised crime, and to prosecute such offences in order to recover the proceeds of crime.
Widely recognised for his anti-corruption advocacy, Domelevo is expected to bring his expertise and integrity to strengthen EOCO’s operations and ensure the effective execution of its mandate.
Domelevo previously served as Ghana’s Auditor-General in 2016, where he gained national attention for his commitment to accountability and transparency in public financial management.
In 2020, he was directed by then-President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to proceed on 169 working days of accumulated leave, a move that ultimately led to his exit from office.
