Amanase (E/R), Dec. 31, GNA - Baafour Asare Panin II, Chief of Amanas= e in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District in the Eastern Region, has stressed th= e need for Ghana to promote traditional music and art to facilitate national development. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Amanase on Thursday he said African theatrical music and dances such as Adowa, Kete, Kpanlogo and Osode were threatened with extinction. Baafour Asare noted that traditional music and dance educate, inform and inspire people to engage in community and national development. He called on the citizenry to showcase the traditional way of dressing= , which he said was a way of portraying the lifestyle of Ghanaians.
