This Kurasinii judge is only limited to his traditions. There is nothing legal about this. A dead body does not belong to anybody but may be God who gave us life. Only in Africa where people use these nonsense positions to have dominion to cheat and create chaos over properties. The legal key word is next of kin, and that could be your spouse if married or immediate relative. In other countries people plan and provide for their own funeral before their deaths. They buy their burial plots. They decide who can, and cannot speak or be invited to their funeral and they put it in the hands of a trusted family member to see it through. THIS ABUSUA PANIN NONSENSE ONLY HAPPENS IN AFRICA.

With all respect Mr Justice I find this very worrying, there are some very old / outdated burial practices in Ghana which need changing; an example is not allowing some family members to be laid in state, buried in secret locations, immediate / nuclear family excluded from the burial arrangements and some bodies actually mutilated. This is the 21st century and we need to align some outdated practices with civilization. Why can't an individual dictate how they wish to be buried / cremated etc and at chosen location ? People's wishes should be respected if a will is left .

George Bush wanted, and had a train ride from Houston to College Station, slowing down at every town blowing the train whistle at lined up well-wishers to say good bye.. If you have money, and you don't plan these things your wishes will be subject to someone's interpretation.

I stood my grounds, got a funeral home to handle everything nicely and afterwards broke ties with that wicked and primitive family. Different traditions in Ghana have different burial requirements, and one tradition can't be used to determine or interpret the law regarding how funerals are to be carried out. Furthermore, wills are recognized by courts in Ghana. A person can therefore stipulate in their will how they wish to be buried, and that should be respected as long as the will is deemed valid. A family can't claim a body that never belonged to that family but that a a property of the deceased. The advice to all is that one needs to have a valid will stipulating funeral directions in order to avoid so-called 'family' taking control of the body and feuding about funeral arrangements.

This is certainly an illiterate judge who does not know that there’s something called power of attorney a legal document which gives a dead person the right to appoint anyone of his choosing to fully execute his or her burial the way they wanted it while they were alive.
These are the judges who create undue pressure and stress for the deceased loved ones such as spouses and children

It is what it is, the properties are covered by your will, but the way the body will be disposed of is the responsibility of the family head. We are Africans, we ve already outsourced our brains to the peach people, and that is why. To avoid this, just get the family head involved in the preparation of the burial plans.. Period..
