Ghana is exploring a potential partnership with Portage Energy, a clean-energy company specialising in sustainable waste management and waste-to-energy technologies, including the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, in a post on X, said she held discussions with company executives to explore opportunities for collaboration aimed at strengthening Ghana’s waste management system and advancing the country’s transition to cleaner, more efficient energy solutions.
According to the Vice President, the meeting aligns with government’s priority of securing “true, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnerships” that support national development while delivering real value to citizens.

“In this current political and economic environment, what Ghana seeks are true, transparent, and mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations that advance national development while creating real value for our people,” she noted.
Portage Energy’s interest spans innovative waste conversion technologies capable of reducing environmental pollution while generating clean fuel alternatives, including SAF, which is increasingly becoming a critical component of global aviation decarbonisation efforts.
The Vice President added that government looks forward to continued engagements with Portage Energy as both sides explore viable pathways for cooperation that serve the national interest.
