Naval Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin is the Ag Director General of the Department of Public Relations
At least four fraudulent applications have been detected in the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment process, according to the Acting Director General of the Department of Public Relations, Naval Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin.
Speaking to JoyNews, Naval Captain Arhin explained that as of noon on November 20, 2025, four applications were flagged as fraudulent. She believes some individuals in society are taking advantage of vulnerable applicants while attempting to infiltrate the recruitment process.
She noted that those found with fraudulent applications will be handed over to the civil police for further investigations and added that the investigation will also help the military identify and take action against those behind the fraudulent schemes to ensure that such activities are stopped early.

“We had picked four fraudulent applications, and we believe that there are people in the society who are taking advantage of the vulnerable. What we are going to do is that we will be handing them over to the civil police to do their investigations and also be able to help us unravel those behind the criminal efforts so that, going forward, this can be nipped in the bud,” she said.
Naval Captain Arhin further mentioned that the public had been warned before the recruitment process began to be cautious of unscrupulous individuals. Unfortunately, a few applicants still fell victim to these fraudulent schemes.
“I remember before the commencement of the entire process, we cautioned the public from falling for such unscrupulous persons, but unfortunately, a few applicants have fallen for such fraudulent people,” she added.
Recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in the Greater Accra Region resumed on November 20, 2025, after the tragic stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium forced a temporary halt to the exercise.
Six applicants died in the November 12, 2025 stampede, prompting the President, John Dramani Mahama to suspend the process and order a full review of safety protocols.
