Isaac Adonteng has been arrested by police after they found cutlass, metal pipe in his room
The Ghana Police Service has shared harrowing details regarding the alleged murder of a 13-year-old girl by her father, identified as Isaac Adonteng, who resides Kokrobite.
In a statement dated November 20, 2025, the Weija Divisional Police Command detailed that, according to its preliminary investigations, the deceased victim identified as Celestine Adonteng had been subjected to severe physical abuse.

The police stated that the victim was accused of taking food meant for her younger sibling and was allegedly beaten with a cane, a metal pipe, and other undisclosed objects as punishment.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect physically assaulted the victim with a cane, a metal pipe, and other objects after accusing her of taking food belonging to her younger sibling,” portions of the statement read.
The statement further revealed that the victim sustained injuries from the physical assault but was denied medical attention and kept confined in a room.
According to the police, they found the victim unconscious when they visited the residence following tip-offs, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
“Despite the victim sustaining multiple injuries, the suspect failed to seek medical care and kept her confined in a room. Police, acting on a complaint, proceeded to the residence where the victim was found unconscious.
“She was rushed to the Police Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. The body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy,” the police added.
The police added that during a search of the residence, they retrieved a cutlass and a metal pipe, which they allege were used in the assault on the deceased.
Meanwhile, 54-year-old Isaac Adonteng who is a mason has been apprehended by the police for investigations.

“The suspect, Isaac Adonteng, a 54-year-old mason, has been arrested and detained to assist with investigations. Exhibits retrieved from the scene include a cutlass and a metal pipe allegedly used in the assault,” it added.
“The Accra Regional Police Command strongly cautions parents and guardians against the use of excessive force in correcting children, as such actions are unlawful and can lead to tragic outcomes. The Command urges the public to report all forms of child abuse and domestic violence promptly for swift intervention and protection of victims,” it cautioned.
