As Ghana celebrated Farmers’ Day 2025, the Yves Rocher Foundation (France) and Ghana’s Sustain-A-Bean Foundation partnered to deliver Roots of Radiance™, a wellness and empowerment programme designed to uplift women in cocoa-growing communities.

Many women farmers and artisans received training in skincare literacy, hygiene, botanical wellness, and enterprise skills, positioning the programme as one of the standout community engagements during this year’s national celebration. The workshop was led by Dr. Joanna Chebli Fadoul, topical and infectious-disease specialist with Yves Rocher Ghana, who delivered practical demonstrations on:

• Skin health and preventive care • Personal hygiene for daily wellbeing

• The use of botanical ingredients in sustainable skincare

• Wellness practices that strengthen confidence and resilience

“Farmers’ Day celebrates Ghana’s backbone - our farmers,” said Vanya Daryanani, CoFounder of Sustain-A-Bean.

“What these women grow fuels families and industries. Roots of Radiance™ shows that it can also fuel their own wellbeing, confidence, and economic power.”

Participants received skincare products and joined hands-on sessions showing how cocoa can be transformed into skincare and wellness products, giving new visibility to the value of local botanicals.

Sustainable Craftsmanship Boosts Local Enterprise

Handcrafted, biodegradable accessories produced by Sustain-A-Bean’s community artisans were also showcased. These items are now being integrated into Yves Rocher Ghana’s gift collections, creating new income opportunities for rural women and spotlighting community talent on a national stage.

“Through this partnership, we honour Ghana’s farmers and the women whose labour sustains the future of the cocoa economy.” – Yves Rocher Ghana Representative.
