Late Ayawaso East MP Mahama Naser Toure to be buried January 5

The late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Naser Toure Mahama, is expected to be laid to rest on Monday, January 5, 2026, in line with Islamic burial rites.

This was confirmed by Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, the NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Ghana's Adenta Constituency, in an interview with the media at the late MP's residence.

He stated that the funeral will happen "tomorrow at 10am at Kanda" before being laid to rest at the Madina cemetery after the necessary Islamic religious rites are completed.

Naser Toure Mahama reportedly passed away at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.

He was aged 60.

He was serving his fourth term in Parliament and was the Vice Chair of the Energy Committee in Parliament.
