Some of the excited staff at Jubilee House during Mahama's surprise visit to them
President John Dramani Mahama, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, paid a surprise visit to all the staff at the seat of government, the Jubilee House, to personally express his gratitude to them and welcome them into the New Year.
The president, led by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, went through every corner of the Jubilee House - from the security post to the top offices.
A video of the visit, shared by the Presidency, showed President Mahama either shaking the hands of his staff or hugging them, wearing a broad smile as he exchanged pleasantries with them and made jokes intermittently at other points.
Most of the staff, who seemed surprised to see the president, could not hide their joy.
Even those who were shy could not hide from President Mahama as he invited them for either a hug or a handshake.
In a brief remark to some of the staff, the president praised them for their work in 2025 and urged them to do more in 2026.
“2025 has been a successful year for the government. Normally, I’m the face of it, but they don’t know that those who are cooking are the ones cooking the delicious food. I’m just serving the food.
“So, I came to say thank you for the good work you have done and to encourage you, for 2026, to work even harder and to cook more deliciously for the people of Ghana,” he said.
