President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra on Sunday, January 11, 2026, for an official trip to Europe, where he will participate in high-level engagements aimed at advancing Ghana’s development agenda.

A statement signed by the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said the president will first travel to the United Kingdom to hold meetings with coordinators of the Accra Reset Initiative, a key framework focused on revitalising Ghana’s economy and governance systems.

Following his engagements in the UK, President Mahama will continue to Davos, Switzerland, to participate in sessions of the World Economic Forum.

The annual forum brings together global leaders, policymakers and business executives to discuss pressing global economic and development issues.

On the sidelines of the Davos meetings, President Mahama is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with several world leaders to strengthen diplomatic and economic cooperation.

The trip forms part of the government’s broader efforts to reposition Ghana on the global stage and attract partnerships to support national development.
