Following the arrest and detention of Ghana’s former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), some Ghanaians have appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to show compassion in handling the matter.

In exclusive street interviews conducted in Accra by GhanaWeb TV’s Victoria Kyei Baffour, some residents shared their views on the development.

Many expressed concerns that the government’s approach could worsen the former minister’s situation and have urged the president to allow him some relief.
