Ironically, just 24 hours earlier, President Akufo-Addo had questioned whether Cape Coast even needed an airport, citing its closeness to Accra and Takoradi.

Fast forward. The President publicly claimed he never promised a harbor, saying it was only a landing site.
Facts disagreed. The manifesto didn’t lie.
After backlash, he backtracked and apologized, blaming “confusion” between the 2016 landing site and the 2020 harbor promise.

Dr. Bawumia announced a $2 billion Korean-backed fund for the Cape Coast Airport and repeatedly reaffirmed his commitment.
