The curfew on Sampa is expected to run daily
The Minister of the Interior, Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka, has renewed the curfew hours imposed on Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region.
The curfew will now run daily from 10:00 PM to 4:00 AM, taking effect from Thursday, January 22, 2026.
This decision was made on the advice of the Bono Regional Security Council and enacted through an Executive Instrument (EI).
The government has appealed to chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth, and residents of the area to remain calm amid ongoing challenges and to pursue their grievances through peaceful, non-violent channels in order to maintain stability and peace.

Additionally, a complete ban remains in place on the possession of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons by any individual within Sampa Township.
The details of the curfew states that anyone found in violation will face immediate arrest and prosecution.
