Some commuters on the Awoshie-Anyaa road in Greater Accra struggled to find vehicles on Monday, January 26, 2026, amid ongoing transportation challenges affecting several parts of Accra and nearby regions.

A video shared by CDR Africa on X captured chaotic scenes, showing passengers scrambling to board the few available buses.

The city continues to grapple with worsening traffic congestion and urban mobility issues, with commuters left stranded during rush hours and others compelled to pay unapproved transport fares.

In response, the government has assured Ghanaians of its commitment to modernising and expanding transport services.

Plans have also been outlined to retool state-run services, support the private sector with high-occupancy buses, and deploy new buses to ease congestion during peak hours.
