Speed spent 24 hours in Ghana after visiting other African countries
All eyes around the world were, literally, on Ghana on January 26, 2026, following the arrival of one of the world’s biggest streamer and content creator Daren Jason Watkins, popularly known as IShowSpeed, as part of his tour of the African continent.
The content creator, as part of his itinerary, was taken to Akropong in the Eastern Region and welcomed with a traditional Akan naming ceremony by the traditional authorities.

The event saw the streamer immersed in ancient customs before receiving the local name ‘Barima Kofi Akuffo’.
After being conferred with the name, Speed, who appeared thrilled, boarded a private chopper that carried him from the Akropong township to Burma Camp in Accra, before heading to the Independence Square, where other activities were lined up for him.
His short flight from the Akropong township to Accra has become the most tracked flight worldwide on Flightradar24.
According to reports, flight 9GAFW AS50 was ranked number one on January 26, 2026, and was monitored by over 3,000 people who tuned in to watch the creator’s stream.

Speed’s visit, which was highly anticipated by Ghanaians, saw other activities climaxing it, including a car stunts experience, massage at the shea butter museum, meeting Kwame Nkrumah’s daughter, a boxing experience at Bukom, a backflip at the Black Star Square, and a massage at the Asenema Waterfall.
