An alarming rise in cases of missing persons, especially children, have triggered growing concerns among some Ghanaians on social media.

Across platforms like X and Facebook, users have been posting photos, videos, and personal accounts of missing individuals in January 2026, sparking widespread concerns and questions about the apparent surge in such cases.

Several of such posts have gone viral, drawing attention to cases that remain unresolved weeks or even months after they are first reported.

This GhanaWeb article chronicles a list of some missing children who have been reported and who are yet to be found.

Joycelyn Yamoah Dwomoh

According to a Ghana Police amber alert, three-year-old Joycelyn was abducted from her school at Konongo on January 15, 2026, by a young woman.

The report stated that the child was last seen wearing a striped straight school uniform dress.

The alert further described the suspected abductor as approximately 25 years old, dark in complexion, dressed in a white Lacoste shirt and a black skirt, with plaited hair.



Francis Okyere

Another missing child report, cited by GhanaWeb on X and published on January 27, 2026, stated that Francis Okyere was last seen at his home at Kasoa on January 25, 2026, and has not been found since.



Deborah Fadire



A GHOne TV report published on January 29, 2026, stated that 20 year old Deborah was last seen near the Odorkor Glory Land Junction area.

This list could be longer, but so far, these are the names that GhanaWeb has chanced on.

Updates will be made to the story as and when they come to GhanaWeb's attention.

Meanwhile, family members of the missing individuals have appealed to the public to provide any information that could assist in locating them.

As of the time of filing this report, there had been no official updates from the police regarding whether they had been found.
