This award will not deter the police from their abuse of suspects in their custody. If this man was found to have been killed by the police in the cell, the police officers responsible should be charged with homicide and jailed in addition to the financial compensation. Not until some of these police officers are jailed for abuse of suspects, they will not stop their abuse of suspects in their custody.
