A former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has been hospitalised after his arrest and interrogation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
The development was confirmed by his lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who also serves as Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen.

According to Awuah, his client’s health condition worsened shortly after he was taken into custody.
He explained that Nkansah experienced a sharp rise in blood pressure, alongside complications related to a pre-existing bone condition that causes him significant pain.
“After his arrest, they noticed he was unwell and had to be sent for medical care. He is currently on admission at the BNI (NIB) clinic,” Awuah said.
He noted that doctors had to intervene to stabilise Nkansah as investigations proceed.
Nkansah was reportedly picked up on Tuesday, February 10, 206, by NIB officers, who reportedly arrived at his residence in a convoy of three pickup vehicles and conducted a search before taking him away.
The arrest is linked to ongoing investigations into allegations concerning the sale of government-sponsored foreign scholarships.
Prior to his detention, Nkansah had been invited by the NIB to assist with inquiries, following a directive from President John Dramani Mahama to probe claims the former CEO made that individuals were allegedly required to make payments to secure state-funded scholarships abroad.
