The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has emphasised the need for internal healing and reconciliation as a critical foundation for a strong political comeback.

Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Service held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on February 15, 2026, Dr Bawumia urged party members to focus on shared values and a common purpose.

“Healing will not come from silence; it will come from speaking up on what binds us together and working towards it. As a family, we have more that binds us together than what we differ on,” he said.

Dr Bawumia added that genuine reconciliation within the party requires openness and honest engagement rather than silence.

“What is left of the healing and uniting is acknowledging where each went too far, telling ourselves the truth and still choosing to walk together,” he stressed.

Dr Bawumia said sustained engagement and visible commitment to the electorate would position the party strongly for the upcoming electoral contest.

He also encouraged party faithful to close ranks, and rebuild trust at the grassroots level.
