  I think, that the SEC has the power to protect the Ghana Capital Markets, increase the investing public confidence in the markets and punish those who operate illegally. I think, something is wrong with the SEC’s approach. If the SEC has the power to punish and prosecute illegal market participants to increase investor confidence, why is the SEC not using it? Just appealing to investors to be aware will actually erode the very confidence they set out to protect. If the SEC does not act now, all the meetings and hours of presentations aimed at increasing investor confidence will be a waste of time.
