  Meanwhile all those selling by the road side next to drainages and pile of trash were not affected and when you question FDA, they say they are informal sector. Smh but you close down business that are legally registered, pays all statutory taxes , all in the name of "multiple registration". Why should a company have seperate registration for each branch instead of you listing thier branches under one main account registration and making sure all those branches are inspected and permits issued accordingly. Most of the time, when permit fees are paid, the FDA inspectors doesn't even show up to perform the inspection. The way this country operates, only God knows. Ghana has thousands or even millions of food vendors but only 16 were closed down and 4 names published. How many businesses did FDA visit? If they are not being unfair, they should publish all 16 companies and thier locations. This will show that FDA only selected a few places for this operation and used them as scapegoats just to prove a point. The Cheesecake house was reopened less than 24 hours of closure because the issue was that, FDA insisted on branch registration eventhough the company main location is already registered with a valid permit valid through June 2026. If you required a company to have multiple registration, you don't shut them down, because all these years, that was never an issue. To the media houses, stop the cut and paste story telling. Next time send your reporters to find out what the real issue behind each establishment so you can publish valid news that explains the situation better. Don't just run with whatever you hear.
