  It’s easy to use the Post office to renew Let them send the expired license to the relevant embassy with the cash involved. The embassy sends them to a special desk in Ghana. The renewed licenses are then dispatched back.

  Hmmm. This guy again! Even in Ghana, Accra to be precise, you are struggling to renew our license. I did my renewable mid - October 2025, i was given a sheet of paper as cover note for 3months. Went back in January 2026 confidently to collect my license only for an officer to stamp this cover note, "Extended till June"
  This is not rocket science, NIA produces instant ID cards. Fix the issues at home. By the way, how many Ghanaians overseas use Ghanaian issued license to drive in those countries?

  Most Ghanaians abroad have driver's license from the country they live in. Per Ghana law which I stand to be corrected, someone with a foreign license can drive in Ghana for some days. For I know if you hold any license from a commonwealth nation, you can drive in Ghana for 3 months. The problem is our Police. Either they don't know the laws or they just want to extort money from drivers with foreign licenses. This project that DVLA want to institute isn't necessary to me if only our local laws works.
  If someone's driver's license expires and that person lives in abroad, anytime that the person comes and show a prove that s/he was was outside the country and for that reason couldn't renew, the renew come be done for the one.

If people living outside Ghana want to renew their licenses, why not online, if you think it is even worth it? And why only 5 countries? Do Ghanaian diaspora live in only 5 countries? Why disenfranchise others? One of the most stupid ventures ever. Stop wasting our monies. Hospitals and schools are not getting enough budget. Nurses cant even be paid their salaries.
