Cocobod, first and foremost, should be run by farmers or their educated children. The managers of Cocobod have to have some sensitivity to the stakeholders of the cocoa industry. I bet my bottom dollar that there are officials making crucial decisions at Cocobod who have neither seen a cocoa tree before nor interacted with a single cocoa farmer. Management of the cocoa industry should not be considered job for the boys. It should go to experienced managers with experience in international cocoa market dynamics and at the same time can relate well to actors in the cocoa industry at home. Cocobod should not be a cash cow of the government and the coe is neither fed nor properly taken care of by people whose only interest is to ransack the coffers of the Cocobod.

I am of the opinion that cocoa farmers in Ghana at this stage should demonstrate/protest against the continued existence of cocobod.
