  Very awkward comparison in my opinion. Much as both players are legends in Ghana football, there's absolutely no way to compare the great Asamoah Gyan. Gyan's impeccable heights in Ghana and world football is on another glorious pedestal. And as far as the number 3 jersey is concerned, Asamoah Gyan is widely unmatched and incomparable.

  No doubt it is the General, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour who made the #3 jersey iconic and I strongly believe that he became a role model to Gyan in the year 2000 when he helped Hearts of Oak win Africa in style. I am sure a school boy Gyan at the time watched it on TV as we all did and said, I will take this number and build on that legacy as strikers NEVER wore 3 but 9 in those days. The General Emmanuel Osei Kuffour was indeed a great and fantastic player who had exceptional football brains.
