The Black Stars of Ghana will face the Wales national football team in an international friendly at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in what will be the first senior meeting between the two sides.

The match will also mark the first time an African side has played a men’s international fixture in Wales. It forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars have already secured qualification.

Coach Otto Addo is expected to rely on several key players, including Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Mohammed Kudus, as Ghana continues preparations for the tournament in North America.

Ghana has also scheduled other friendly matches against Austria national football team, the Germany national football team, and Mexico national football team ahead of the competition in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

At the World Cup, Ghana has been drawn in a difficult group alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team, and Panama national football team.

The friendly against Wales will give Addo another opportunity to assess his squad and build momentum before the tournament begins.

Wales, coached by Craig Bellamy, is still chasing qualification for the World Cup through the European play-offs scheduled for March. Ticket information for the match will be announced later.
