President Mahama awarded Honorary PhD in South Korea

Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea has conferred an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Public Administration on President John Dramani Mahama.

The honour was bestowed in recognition of his contributions to Ghana’s national transformation and economic development, as well as his leadership in public service and democratic governance.

In an official post on X on March 13, 2026, it was announced that the conferment formed part of president Mahama’s engagements during his visit to the Republic of Korea.

The recognition also highlights the strengthening diplomatic relations between Ghana and South Korea.

President Mahama is currently in South Korea as part of efforts to deepen cooperation and explore opportunities in areas such as trade, technology and investment between the two countries.
