A water tanker driver, Kojo Agyei, from Tapa Amanya in the Oti Region, is appealing to the public for help to restore his health after engaging in an affair with his best friend’s wife.

The issue came to light during Oyerepa Afutuo Show on Oyerepa TV, a programme dedicated to resolving domestic and community disputes.

During the programme, the mother of Kojo Agyei revealed that the family is seeking help from the public and anyone her son may have offended, as his health continues to deteriorate.

Speaking on the show, Kojo Agyei explained that he had travelled to Tapa for work when he began an affair with the wife of his best friend, who is a mason. According to him, the situation turned violent after he was caught with the woman.

He further stated that the woman later died and since then his health has been worsening, leaving him struggling to walk and speak properly.

“I went to sleep with someone’s wife and this has come upon me. I want you to beg him, my friend (Kwadow) for me for sleeping with his wife,” he said during the programme.

His mother also confirmed his condition, saying he returned home from the Oti Region already ill and has been unable to explain clearly what happened to him.

“He went to work in the Oti Region and came back with an illness. Whatever we asked him, he could not speak,” she said.

During the programme, the host placed a phone call to the friend whose wife was involved in the alleged affair to hear his side of the story.

Speaking on the call, the man (Kwadwo) explained that he had earlier received threats from his wife’s family and had been informed that his wife was having an affair while he was away working in Assin Fosu.

He said his wife was three months pregnant before he travelled but later received information suggesting she was involved with another man.

“My wife was three months pregnant before I traveled to Assin Fosu. While I was away, someone called to tell me that my wife was having an affair. I wondered how that could be possible since she was pregnant.

“My wife later came to Assin Fosu to give birth and then returned home. Not long after, I heard again that my friend Kojo was claiming he had fathered the child with my wife and was taking care of the baby. One day, I went there and saw my wife with Kojo holding my child. Things turned violent and I was arrested by the police,” he said.

Despite the incident, he stated that he holds no personal grudge against Kojo Agyei.

“Kojo, I don’t have any evil against you. I pray you become well. Maybe your problem is connected to my late wife.”

At the end of the programme, the host suggested that both parties may consider consulting traditional authorities to seek reconciliation and possible spiritual resolution to the matter.
