It's a good idea to reduce police corruption but more has to be done to prevent scammers. Some folks who dont even own a vehicle in Accra have already received "fake" messages purportedly from MTTD asking them to pay violatio ...

A driver must provide driver license with valid photo and valid DoB for verification, the idea is great but he need to do more research on this before implementing it.
The question is, has the police have the power to stop every vehicle? The best thing is stop the police from stopping every vehicle. And the police force has to be decentralized. Each region must have their own police.
So this man gets sense? What is the difference of carrying your licence and a license number if a driver still have to provide that number? Fools everywhere
You are too naive to understand
The same police will tell you your licence number cannot be found in their database and frustrate you till you give "something".
HAHA!! Mr Smith
So its the police not the law.do you know how many drivers lost their licenses to police officers who were reckless with it.
@ Bbk
It's we have a poor outdated public transport system..Otherwise they could have easily used Vehicles registration numbers to arrest offenders with the new reforms at DVLA.Most GPRTU drivers are spare drivers who the p ...

The difference is police cannot put your license into their pocket
Drop this stupid idea, even in US, the demand driver's license. Now, what if I took my friends car and put his license number on my phone and gives it to the police? I don't understand nothing works in Ghana Lord have mercy.
Typical of a black man wanting to look down on every initiative, you didn't think through your point well. They are saying when you present your number they'll check and the system will show your details. Doesn't that include ...

What makes you think living in the US is something you should be proud of? In fact you should be ashamed of yourself for voting Trump as president!
Which means your friend will pay the fine if something goes wrong or you misbehave
In the USA when a police demands your license he is verifying you are the true owner of the vehicle you are driving most times and not because they want to see if it has expired to take money from you.
Hail Dr Bawumiah for all this Digitalised system all this innovations we are implementing depends on His ideas kudos to Dr Bawumiah
May God bless Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. Digitalisation is now ruling the world.I pray that Ghanaians will give him the chance to bring in his Credit Scoring system. This innovation by Ghana Police can also be applied to pedestrian ...

Aboa bi ba. Does he know a computer mouse? Or he thinks dancing foolishly with his Walewale protruded stomach is digital
He doesn't know a computer mouse as you also doesn't know that most computers doesn't use a mouse. But through Dr Bawumiah the country now has digital home address.
Concert people, is he the only computer literate in Ghana? He gas no fkn clue what digitalization even means...
There's always a way out to demand money from drivers. Ghana Police, No.1 bribe masters!!
But I thought taking a driver's licence was also to allow the driver to report at the station later, instead of arresting him on the spot and wasting his day. Or will there be on-the-spot arrests if they commit offences?
That's good idea. I believe he or she can keep the licence like bank card if they prefer
What if the culprit gives details of a stolen driver's licence to the police?
I totally disagree with this new system because a driving license doesn't only need numbers but photos for easy verification.Tnx
hihihi,oh masa why? if you give your number and the police key it into their device/system, your digital licence with your picture would be displayed on his screen. This one too someone should tell you?
U see how stupid some of them can be? Every driver in Ghana has a unique number which include the driver's identity and other information but see how the fool is exposed badly, trying to critiicise the initiative.
Immediately you enter the number will appear your picture and your data.
That's a good one. The police demands your license and then jumps on his motorbike and tells you to follow him to their charge office where an inspector will then demand a big amount like 1000ghc. Because they have your physi ...

Good idea. It will stop criminal corrupt police officers from taking drivers license from drivers, put it in their pocket and demand the driver to pay bribe.
Link the driver's licence to the Ghana card. I really like the idea of generating money through the momo. Elsewhere, technology are used to check human behaviours
How are you going to remember your license number?. You see they can just say any number, and what then ,isn't the same as showing your license....??Too many criminals fall thru the cracks when there is no accountability..... ...

Masa if you like carry your license along no problem, all wat the police want is your license number period. But if your license get damaged or missing your own problem.
Gh police MTTD guys will still find a way to take their 20ghc from drivers.
Thank God. Tired of bribe taking officers.
Do we need to show Ghana card ? And what happens if the car was stolen, how would the officer know that ?.
And what if you don't pay the fines in 14days ,and never get stopped by police again ?
There was no mention of Ghanacard but I can see the two being linked together soon.
A stolen car is easily identifiable because a vehicle's details are linked to the owner whose picture they can see; police can then call ...

What about the bad road with pot holes
They have to wear a body camera and record every interaction with drivers. This is what happens in proper countries. No camera, no traffic stop!
IT ALL ABOUT NDC TRYING TO STEAL MONEY FROM US ALL WE TOLD YOU NDC + MORE TAXES AND MORE MONEY TAKEN FROM YOU
