A Deputy National Communications Officer hopeful of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sika Joshua Nartey, has cautioned party member Henry Osei Akoto to exercise restraint and decorum in his public commentary, particularly in remarks directed at the party chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

According to Nartey, persistent attacks on the NDC National Chairman will not resonate well with the party’s grassroots supporters. He stressed that such conduct could undermine unity within the party.

In a statement on March 16, 2026, Nartey also referenced what he described as past controversies involving Osei Bonsu, whom he referred to as a political godfather to Osei Akoto.

He further criticised Osei Akoto’s suggestion that Asiedu Nketia should abandon any presidential ambitions, describing the remark as "disrespectful to a leader he believes commands strong grassroots support."

“As the grassroots chairman, I am calling my brother Henry to order. If he continues on this path, he will face the wrath of the grassroots, he shoukd communicate with decorum” part of the statement said.

He added that Asiedu Nketia is widely regarded by many supporters as a leader capable of guiding the party into the future, including the 2028 general elections and therefore deserves respect in internal party discourse.

Nartey urged members of the NDC to prioritise unity, discipline, and constructive engagement as the party prepares for future political contests.
