Because you have benefited from the cake she is akin to lies and deception to free her accomplished. You told the court that Adu Boahene prefinanced operations and later get reimbursed. What a palpable lie she told the court. In any way, the security device that he claimed to have bought from the Israeli government was nothing like death and life situations where he needed to act swiftly. He was just using the government money to trade for profit and not necessarily acting in secrecy because of the sensitivity of his job. Give us a break little SATAN.

Adu Boahen bypassed the money into his personal account without the office account the reason the woman can’t speak to it.
If you see the responses of the witness to be in favour of Adu Boahen then reconsider your understanding.
If she had confirmed the 3 cheques then Adu Boahen will be doing well.
Mind you the 49m came from the government coffers so how come the witness was not aware ? Hmmm

So going on and on about Management Letters just shows Atta Akyea has no clue how to defend his client.
2) What has a budget got to do with misappropriating funds? Certainly you won’t find a budget line for stealing! Again, a wrong approach resulting from not understanding the financial management process.
Fraud involves carefully planned falsification of documents and events.
I think Adu Boahene needs a lawyer who understands financial management, accounting, and Fraud.

Paying money to a fraudulent company is criminal. It doesn't mean that money went missing from your records. You know who you paid. So it can be retrieved.

However, the ORAL investigation uncovered that Adu Boahene, her boss, presented false information and documents to her for the payment. An audit which is based samples could miss such carefully planned schemes of fraud, but a forensic audit would. Therefore she, the witness here, cannot be blamed.

The prosecution witness said she did not know about any 49.1m, she did know the source and she as a head of finance for the institution has not prepared any budget for it.
She said she is also not aware of any authorization or disbursement of the money.
The questions now are: Where from that money? Who authorised the payments? Who issued those those 3 cheques?

It appears Dominic Ayine and Srem Sai went fishing for the wrong person to serve as the State's persecution witness.She is rather helping the cause of the accused and making the A-G look foolish.However the case is not yet over.The A-G will also have his turn to cross examine the witness.What I still don't understand is this;Adu-Boahene is not being accused of stealing Ghc49 million.The A-G claims he fraudulently converted the greater part of the said amount to his personal account and laundered the same on various properties at choice locations in Accra.In other words,all of the 49 million that was said to have been paid to an Isreali company according to Dominic Ayine was not all paid.Only a little part was given them and the rest was fraudulently paid to Adu-Boahene and wife who converted the remaining into a personal account of theirs with a name almost similar to the National Signals Bureau account to make it appear legitimate.The confusing part is that the State's principal witness is contradicting Dominic Ayine that no 49 million was paid to any company in 2020 for cyber security software when she was the accountant at the bureau at the time.And importantly,she is testifying under oath,led by counsel of the accused who has the necessary documents to back her claims.Was the case hurriedly put together by Srem Sai in other to make it appear as though ORAL is working because he,Srem Sai had to justify his appointment as deputy A-G when NDC had more experienced people who had sacrificed far more for their party,deserving such an appointment? Is Dominic,who should have known better,now having rotten eggs thrown all over his face? Only time will tell.The case is not yet over!!!

Whats the issue in contention? Money meant for procuring equipment can be inflated and the balance stolen, in which case the accountant will not know. Again, money from the operational account is not subjected to audit, so if a director takes money from that account for operational purposes but puts it somewhere, the accountant won't know.

The PW went on to rub in it by saying "if any such money were missing I will know". This is the person who is required to tell the court how the accused person stole the money.
