  Ghanaweb just jumped straight to the middle of the incident, because the story doesn't make sense. And the regional minister is not making sense either - to say Ibrahim Mahama is a diplomat and therefore an attack on him will not be tolerated is an understatement, does that mean an attack on innocent ordinary people by the police would be tolerated? Any police officer involved in that incident must be sacked.

The culprits should be arrested, prosecuted and put in jail, and not just sack from the Ghana police service. What a shame and disgraceful act.

  Any brutal attack by our police on Ghanaians without any probable cause must be condemned and investigated without considering the status of the victim. Is the police administration interested in Ibrahim Mahama’s case because he is alleged to be a diplomat? Our police is getting away with crimes committed against Ghanaians and they must be held accountable before the situation gets worse . Sometime ago a police investigator was implicated in causing a harm to a victim by slicing off the ear just to get a confession from the victim yet Ghanaians are yet to know what punishment was to that officer for assaulting the victim. We are in a civilized society and the police cannot be assaulting Ghanaians without probable cause. The minister of interior and the IGP must act to save the police department from a bad reputation.

Would this Regional Minister have made the same statement if the victim of the attack had been a street vendor? Condemn the attack and stop this village market diplomat nonsense talk. Handing out those Ablakwa worthless diplomatic passports doesn't necessarily make one a diplomat, nor should 'diplomats' enjoy better protection from unwarranted attacks by the Police. Every person in the country should be entitled to same protection of the law against unwarranted attacks.
