Controversial Ghanaian preacher, Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly known as Fire Oja, has finally broken his silence after a viral video showed a group of individuals storming his church premises during an ongoing service.

It will be recalled that GhanaWeb earlier reported on Sunday, March 22, 2026, that a video circulating on X showed some thugs demanding that Fire Oja accompany them to the Nai We Shrine over allegations of disrespect toward traditional customs.

Following the incident, the preacher took to social media to explain what led to the invasion of his church, adding that he didn't disrespect the Ga customs as speculated.

According to him, the issue began with a misunderstanding between himself and a socialite identified as Ola Maame, who allegedly summoned him to Nai We over claims of defamation.

He explained that after appearing before Nai We, he was not allowed to fully present his side of the story before a ruling was made, which included a demand for him to pay GH¢72,000.

“I was summoned to Nai We’s palace, and I went. After presenting my evidence, I stated that Ola Maame had also defamed me on social media, so she should provide her evidence as well. They told me she would do so at the next sitting. However, when I returned, she did not show up.

“That was when Nai We said that since Ola Maame filed the complaint, if I also had an issue, I should file a separate complaint,” he said.

Fire Oja added that tensions escalated after the ruling, prompting him to leave the palace. He later saw a video on social media by the chiefs, directing him to pay GH¢72,000 and perform certain rituals.

“I left because tensions were rising after the ruling, and I didn't want trouble. The next day, I saw a video on social media instructing me to come and pay GH¢72,000 and perform some rituals,” he added.

The preacher further disclosed that he reported the matter to the Nungua Chief, who, according to him, indicated that Nai We had no authority to summon him.

“I reported the issue to the Nungua Chief because I am on his land. He told me that Nai We has no right to summon me, and even if he intends to, the request should be routed through them. They also mentioned that Nai We had already taken GH¢9,000 from me and had made a mistake,” he said.

Recounting the events at his church, Fire Oja said the group of individuals insisted on taking him to Nai We by force.

“When they came to the church, they said Nai We had ordered them to bring me. I told them I was in the middle of a service and would come afterwards, but they refused. They began attacking my church members and me.

“They destroyed church property, including lights and LED equipment, took money from the altar, and broke chairs,” he alleged.

He added that the matter has been reported to the police and that he has already given a statement.

“I have reported the incident to the police and submitted my statement. The police have also given a report to go to the hospital. All I am demanding is the return of the money taken and compensation for the damaged equipment,” he said.
