In light of the recent unfavorable reaction of the UK to the historical decision taken by the sane world against the gravest crime against humanity, I think that the govt of Ghana should seriously begin thinking about and taking steps to withdraw their membership from the "WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE BEEN ENSLAVED AND COLONIZED BY THE UK" group of countries that shamefully and without any remorse, refer to themselves as the British Commonwealth.

Following the earth-shaking historical initiative by our great President Mahama, that so-called Commonwealth organization has been rendered moot and effectively redundant. It's continued existence flies right-smack in the face of the moral principles of the UN declaration and all forms of human dignity.

The British establishment has not grown or regretted their sordid activities of slavery and colonialism. They are still very much barbarians who look down upon all other human beings who do not look like them or behave like them. As we speak, there are still many lands, peoples and resources in far-away lands that are still dominated by what they call British overseas territories. What uncivilized nonsense.

There is still a lot of work that needs to be done to free the world from all the lingering forms of slavery and oppression.

Sorry, but despite the reasonable views you have offered above, it seems that you still very much remain mentally enslaved and subjective to the sinful whims and wiles of our oppressors.

I often hear senior politicians, lecturers in tertiary educational institutions and many otherwise reasonable Africans using that "sociably comfortable" reference of "colonial Masters" to describe people who were responsible for the terrible displacements and genocide of scores of millions of African people stretching over several centuries. From henceforth, we must describe them and label them for what they are. The English language, which they also forcibly imposed upon us, must be wholly revised to capture the true state of the affairs of the world as it is and not what they want it to be.

To think that in 2026, they still feel too big and superior to even as much as offer a gentle civilized apology on behalf of their country and their despicable forebears, seems to indicate that they have no visceral regrets at all for their infernal innate traits - much more, making the effort to correct them.

Considering the unbearable inhuman horrors of the details of the slave trade, colonialism (which is merely slavery on the home territory of its victims) and neocolonialism which have largely been concealed from us, a more apt and fitting epithet should be conferred on those genocidal psychopaths. I think for starters, the term "colonial tyrants" would be a more restrained and kind replacement until they take the first steps to acknowledge their un-Godly crimes against humanity, apologize for same and proceed to start negotiations on reparations.

The countries and descendants of the beneficiaries of the slave trade continue to benefit from the vast wealth made from the trade so the call for payment of reparations to the descendants of slaves and Africa is a totally legitmate claim.

Slave trading was acceptable when it happened and African cannot deny its own complicity. We took our own kith and kin to the slave markets. No white man went into the hinterland to extract them. To that extent its hypocritical to expect reparation. Additionally why should present day governments take responsibility for their nationals' trading activities that were legitimate and acceptable at the time? Africa should put its mind to more productive and beneficial matters. At best this is only going to sour diplomacy and assuage our own inability to raise our nationhood status.

That reminds us of the transatlantic slave trade. The transatlantic slave trade is such that a person living in UK promised to deliver a number of black slaves to a person in America.

He then contacts a person a clan, a tribe or an individual whom he gave guns to to form bandits which will capture people and sell them to him.

USA, Britain and Holland claimed that a horde of people with gun going to an African village, kill all those who challenge him, capture the weak ones, bring them to the coast and sell them to a white man was at that time the law.

The question to ask is that at the time the Papal Bull was issued in 1481 is there a law in Britain, Holland and America that one may form gangs, who enter into any village in the three countries, subjugate the inhabitants to terror, capture them send them to the shore where they will find a person with ship to buy and sell them to America.

Britain, Holland and the USA have not been able to show us the laws they are referring to.

Its a fact that since the three nations are a law to themselves and does not have regard for any country and its laws, their statements are like that of a drunken highway man.

Its a fact that anyone who robs another anywhere including the high way is an armed robber, there cannot be a legal excuse for that he does.

Now lets go back to the notion that transatlantic slave trade has legal backing at the time it took place. If that is the case, then there must be a written agreement between a chief who is providing and Europeans purchasing the human goods.

Such agreement is supposed to be in English and Dutch, then also translated into the language that the chief speaks.

Legally, a person cannot sign and agreement without understanding its contents and the same is not translated to the language he understand and speaks.

Thus lets pretend that such agreement exist. But since it is not understood by one of the parties to the agreement, it is null and void.

We have not found such agreement that African chiefs decided to provide Europeans with Negro men and women to be sold as cattle.

So from the above the transatlantic slave trade is not different from the opium trade and opium wars Britain, Holland and USA fought with nations that refuse to allow opium to bass through their habours to China as well as Chinese who were forced at gunpoint to buy and sniff opium.

Anyway, the British still celebrate the day they donated money to their government to buy arms, declare war that any nation and citizen that refuses to buy illicit drugs from them and use it is an enemy of free trade.

To the effect, these people are saying that its a crime for a person to refuse to sniff an illicit drug and also refuse to undress and walk naked, run amok on the streets, assassinate, murder, maim and rob people..
