A 14-year-old building belonging to Accra New Town Experimental School in the Greater Accra Region collapsed on Sunday, March 29, 2026, following heavy rainfall.
According to multiple reports, the building had previously been declared unfit for use by the assembly and was earmarked for demolition.
Prior to the collapse, images of the structure showed that the three-storey building was not fully completed.
Meanwhile, following the incident, three individuals have been confirmed dead, while 20 others have been rescued.

Rescue operations are ongoing, with emergency teams working urgently to ensure that all victims are brought to safety.
Security agencies, including the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Armed Forces, and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), are on the ground assisting in efforts to rescue trapped victims.
