Very soon, KNUST will have its own teaching hospital under the management of the university authorities. And so, why can't the University of Ghana have its own teaching hospital on the campus of the university? All over the world, well - established universities have their own teaching hospitals on their campuses and so a premier university like the University of Ghana should have its own teaching hospital. It's time for the government officials to return the management of UGMC to the university to fulfill its original purpose of teaching and research in relation to medical education in Ghana. It's very frustrating for medical students to be transported to KBTH every day for medical studies
