Former Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo approached English referee Stuart Attwell to complain about some officiating decisions during Ghana’s 2–1 loss to Germany on March 30, 2026.

During the game, Jonas Adjetey was adjudged to have committed a handball offence in a situation that was difficult to determine, leading to Germany’s first goal.

There were also instances where Ghanaian players were booked for fouls, while similar challenges by German players appeared to be overlooked, which many felt had an impact on the game.

GFA sacks Otto Addo

Following the resumption of the second half, Otto Addo was captured approaching the referee in the tunnel, seemingly expressing his dissatisfaction. His facial expression suggested he was unhappy and made his grievances known.

In the second half, the Black Stars played impressively, matching the Germans and creating chances, which led to an equalizer by Fatawu Issahaku.

Unfortunately, the team conceded in the dying minutes of the game, losing 2–1 in a keenly contested friendly.

After the conclusion of the friendlies, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the dismissal of Otto Addo, despite the proximity of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The coach thanked the GFA for the opportunity and expressed his appreciation to the players and technical staff for their support during his tenure.
