Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang
Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has confirmed her participation in the 2026 Africa Energy Technology Conference, scheduled to take place from May 19 to 21 at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The conference, organised in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, is expected to bring together policymakers, industry leaders, and technology experts to discuss innovation and investment in Africa’s energy sector.
The Vice President is expected to deliver a keynote address, focusing on the role of technology in expanding sustainable energy access and driving industrial growth across the continent.
Her participation follows a courtesy call by the conference’s founder, Emelia Akumah, and her team, where discussions centred on energy access, innovation, and inclusive development, including initiatives supporting women and girls.
The conference will serve as a high-level platform to advance Africa’s energy transition through collaboration and investment. Government delegations, private sector players, development partners, and innovators are expected to attend.
The three-day event will feature discussions on policy harmonisation, cross-border finance, digital connectivity, intra-African trade, and workforce mobility. It will also include a dedicated session on women’s participation in energy innovation and a youth-focused segment aimed at empowering future industry leaders.
The opening session is expected to be led by President John Dramani Mahama, with a gala dinner and awards night to be hosted by the Vice President.
The Africa Energy Technology Conference is an annual event that brings together stakeholders across the energy value chain to explore emerging technologies, policy frameworks, and investment opportunities aimed at driving sustainable energy development on the continent.
