Minister of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has become the centre of discussions on X following the resurfacing of a series of old videos linked to his strong stance on the LGBTQI+ bill.

It may be recalled that Sam George, a leading advocate of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, has consistently been vocal about the legislation.

In a number of videos circulating on X on March 31, 2026, the minister is seen making bold promises and remarks about how deeply committed he is to the bill and his determination to ensure its passage.

In one of the videos, he is also seen criticising the Akufo-Addo administration for failing to pass the bill, insisting that he would ensure the John Mahama-led government would “know no peace” until the bill becomes law.

In a recent development that has sparked outrage on X, President John Dramani Mahama, during a meeting with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on March 30, 2026, stated that Ghana continues to face pressing challenges, including access to education, healthcare, jobs, and other basic needs.

Following the President’s remarks, some netizens have taken to social media to criticise Sam George over what they describe as his failure to fulfil promises made to Ghanaians.

According to some users in a series of posts, the minister’s previous criticisms of the NPP government were merely political.

Meanwhile, Sam George, in a post responding to the backlash, stated that he is not perturbed by what he described as an “agenda” being pushed by some individuals.

According to him, he has paid his dues to his political party, and the criticism online is the least of his concerns.

“Today, I see old videos being sliced and reposted to push an agenda. I smile and say, ‘I have paid my dues.’ You may think you are cooking, but with each video you post, you reveal the stripes on my shoulders as I fought to bring my party, the NDC, back to power. I stood for something I believed in, the return of JM,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sam George’s response has further triggered massive reactions online.
