A Ghanaian man based in the United States has cautioned Ghanaians seeking to travel abroad to ensure they use legal routes.

He has warned of severe consequences for those who attempt to enter the country illegally.

The man, who identified himself as “American Ninja,” indicated that he works with border security officials responsible for protecting the country’s borders from illegal entry.

Meanwhile, a name tag visible on his uniform showed the name A. Nathan.

In a video message shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on April 1, 2026, he urged prospective travellers not to fall victim to fraudsters who promise to facilitate illegal entry into the United States through unsafe routes, particularly via Mexico.

“My name is American Ninja from the high-risk department. We are responsible for safeguarding the international border. I am advising those who want to travel to America to do so using legal means,” he said.

He further warned that many people are being misled and exploited by unscrupulous agents, leaving them stranded at border points, cautioning travellers against trusting such individuals.

“Do not allow yourself to be deceived and defrauded for you to be left stranded at Mexico gate in the name of facilitating your travel to America,” he warned.

The officer also issued a strong warning about the dangers and consequences of attempting to cross into the US illegally, especially by scaling border barriers.

He described the potential repercussions as severe for those apprehended.

He further went on to detail the difficult experiences individuals may face if caught, noting that the process could be distressing and regrettable.

“If you attempt to enter here illegally by scaling over the Mexico wall, you will be severely dealt with if apprehended. If you’re caught, the ordeal and treatment you will be taken through before being handed over to the immigration officials will leave you regretting your life’s choices.

"That is why I am advising you to travel using the legal routes if you want to come to America,” he added.
