Amartey is currently without a club after his contract with Beşiktaş was terminated. He has been a free agent since the 2024/2025 season.
The player is reportedly seeking to join a new club to revive his career and return to the global football spotlight.
He hopes to regain his spot in the Black Stars squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
About the contract termination
Daniel Amartey’s contract with Turkish club Beşiktaş was terminated by mutual agreement.
According to a statement released by the club, Amartey agreed to the termination, though the reasons behind the decision were not specified.
"The contract between our club and professional football player Daniel Amartey has been terminated by mutual agreement," a statement from the Istanbul club released on Saturday, September 14, 2024, read.
It is worth noting that Hüseyin Yücel, a spokesperson for Beşiktaş, recounted the lengths to which Amartey allegedly went to avoid being transferred to a Saudi Arabian club.
Yücel told reporters in Turkey that the club had agreed to a deal with a Saudi Arabian side to transfer the Ghanaian center-back, as the Saudi club was keen to sign him.
However, Amartey was reportedly not interested in moving to Saudi Arabia and took extreme measures to prevent the transfer. Amartey has denied these allegations, claiming they are untrue.
