James Kwasi Appiah (R) has arrived in Ghana
Sudan national team head coach James Kwasi Appiah has been spotted in Ghana on personal business, amid speculation linking him to the vacant Black Stars coaching role on April 3, 2026.
The manager was seen smiling as he posed for a picture with a fan upon his return from Egypt, where he had been scouting for his team.
This comes at a time when his name has been heavily linked to the Black Stars job, following the GFA’s dismissal of head coach Otto Addo after the team lost two friendlies to Austria and Germany.

Appiah is said to have denied ever publicly or privately stating that he is unwilling to take up the role again, insisting that such reports are “fabricated propaganda.”
Sources further clarified that although Appiah is currently engaged with the Sudan national football team, where he remains employed, this does not mean he has ruled himself out of the Black Stars position.
The coaching vacancy has become a subject of public debate since Otto Addo’s exit, with several names—including the former Ghana coach—being linked to the role.
Insiders maintain that reports suggesting Appiah has distanced himself from the job are unfounded and should be treated as misinformation.
