A shop owner in Wassa Bawdie in the Wassa Amenfi East District in the Western Region has been left in shock after armed robbers broke into their store, stealing over 40 iPhone 17 Pro Max devices along with other phones, amounting to over GH¢400,000 in losses.

A video circulating online, sighted by GhanaWeb on April 4, 2026, shows the aftermath of the robbery, with the shop completely emptied, with broken wires, and dismantled CCTV cameras.

Describing the ordeal, a friend of the shop owner, visibly distraught, said they woke up to find the shop had been broken into.

“We woke up this morning to see the metallic gate to the shop broken by armed robbers and the shop itself broken into. They have stolen mobile phones in the shop. They also dismantled and broke the CCTVs installed at the shop as well,” he said.

He went on to explain how the robbers carefully targeted the security system before making off with the goods, including Tecno, Samsung, and iPhones.

“The robbers smartly cut all the wires connected to the CCTVs. The shop sells various phones, including iPhones, Techno, Samsung, and other brands, and the damage cost is uncountable.

“They stole all the (sic) iPhone17 Pro Max and other phones, accumulating over GH¢400,000 worth of goods at Wassa Bawdie Donpem,” he added.

He concluded that; “We are calling and pleading with the public to help us because this is a difficult situation for us. The damage is hard to take.”
