The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, has filed a Right to Information (RTI) request demanding information on the flagship ‘Big Push’ initiative of the John Dramani Mahama government.

The RTI request was for documents from the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) on the award of 20 constructions on the ‘Big Push’ project he claimed were sole-sourced.

He requested minutes of the board of the PPA on the award of the said contracts.

“I write in my capacity as the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, pursuant to the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989), to formally request access to specific information within the custody of the Public Procurement Authority.

“This request relates to procurement activities undertaken under the Government's ‘Big Push’ initiative for the underlisted contracts. Specifically, I request the minutes of the meeting(s) of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) Board at which the underlisted sole-sourcing contracts were approved,” parts of the RTI request read.
