DR Congo have qualified for 2026 FIFA World Cup
The DR Congo Football Association has stepped up efforts to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, dispatching representatives across Europe to persuade several highly-rated dual-national players to switch allegiance.
Among the key targets is 19 year old midfielder Senny Mayulu, currently on the books of Paris Saint-Germain.
Widely regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in Europe, Mayulu is valued at around €40 million and is seen as a potential cornerstone for DR Congo’s future midfield.
Also on the radar is towering defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu, who plays for RB Leipzig, as well as promising midfielder Antoni Milambo, linked with Brentford FC.
The move reflects a broader strategy by the Congolese football authorities to tap into the diaspora and build a competitive squad capable of making an impact on the global stage.
With many European-born players eligible through heritage, DR Congo is keen to secure commitments early before rival nations make their move.
If successful, the addition of these young, high-quality players could significantly elevate the Leopards’ squad depth, blending emerging European talent with established African stars.
