OSP investigates five fuel firms over alleged tax evasion, financial irregularities

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has conducted a series of raids on fuel depots and Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs) as part of investigations into suspected petroleum-related offences.

In an X post on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the OSP identified the companies as Platon Oil and Gas Ltd, Sentuo Oil, Akwaaba Oil, Sahara Oil and Gas Ltd, and Chase Petroleum Ghana Ltd.

"Office of the Special Prosecutor conducts high-profile raids on fuel depots and BDCs over alleged petroleum import fraud, tax evasion, and collusion with officials, seizing documents and detaining several persons of interest", the post read.

According to the OSP, during the exercise, "documents of persons of interest were seized and others were also detained to assist with the ongoing investigations."

According to the OSP, the probe focuses on under-declaration of petroleum imports, falsification of product types during depot transfers, and tax evasion.
